The plaque (right) is located at the entrance to the Library. The plaque is housed in lava rock. The rock is native to the area and comes from the mountains around the reservation.
The plaque reads:
COLORADO RIVER INDIAN TRIBES LIBRARY AND MUSEUM
Dedicated to the preservation of the culture and history of the indian people.
The Tribal Archives serves as a central research center for those individuals who wish to study the four tribes of the Colorado River Indian Reservation. The collection consists of primary and secondary documents, microfilm, microfiche, photographs, video, and audio tapes.
